I’m a freelance journalist focusing on music and culture, based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
As an English Literature student, writing has always been an important part of my life. I am dedicated to producing great quality, insightful and creative content. My degree has given me extensive skills in evaluating and producing criticism and research, which is essential to journalism. Whether it’s a discussion feature or a review, I can guarantee a distinct, thoughtful piece of writing, as I believe originality is fundamental to the practice of journalism.
I have a deep passion for the arts and believe of its high importance in culture, locally and nationally. In my writing I aim to uplift and showcase independent artists and venues, as they are the backbone of the industry. The North-East and the Midlands are often overlooked despite brimming with upcoming talent.
I currently work as the Subeditor of music for The Courier. I edit articles and organise a bi-weekly paper spread, along with organising our weekly list of articles for writers and communicating with press contacts. I also write for The Courier, Karma! Magazine and Music Is To Blame, run my own journal GroovePulse, and host a radio show named Versus.
